Government Prepares Intervention Measures to Save Tourism

Tourism professionals at the Days of Croatian Tourism met on Friday with representatives of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Leo Begović, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy, Labour and Entrepreneurship, Director of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce Nadan Vidošević, Assistant Minister of Transport Igor Maly, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Niko Bulić, Chief Inspector of the State Inspectorate Kruno Kovačević, Chairman of the Tourism Committee in the Parliament Marin Brkarić, Chairwoman of the Environmental Protection Committee Marijana Petri, and Minister of Tourism, host of the event Damir Bajs.

Professional associations HUH and UHPA presented the same problems that have troubled them for years and advocated for a reduction in parafiscal costs and VAT; however, no one from the Ministry of Finance attended the Days of Tourism, so the most important issues could not be discussed.
