The state of Serbia has sued Mirjana Marković, Marko and Marija Milošević, as legal heirs of Slobodan Milošević, for the unlawful appropriation of a villa at Užička Street 34 in Belgrade’s Dedinje, reports the Belgrade daily Blic from Sunday.
According to the daily, the main hearing will take place on December 19 of this year, and all of Milošević’s heirs have their legal representatives in this proceeding.
After the process of determining Milošević’s heirs was completed, initiated by the republican public attorney, considering that the heirs did not initiate the inheritance proceedings after Milošević’s death, the republican public attorney, representing the state of Serbia, initiated the process of confiscating the villa at Užička 34.
The former president of Serbia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia purchased a villa of 94.12 square meters on Užička Street two days before the start of the NATO intervention in 1999, for which he paid the state of Serbia 84,212 dinars or 99.49 of the then marks per square meter, although he had no right to do so, given that he had already purchased a state villa on Tolstojeva Street in Dedinje.
