Zagreb-based company Geofoto, one of the leading European companies in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics, has completed the acquisition process of the Surveying Institute of Slovenia (GZS), Geofoto announced today.
They note that the development strategy of GZS anticipates retaining all approximately 80 employees as well as maintaining the existing name, logo, and visual identity of the Institute. In terms of development, special emphasis will be placed on the development of geoinformatics, with plans to launch a robust geographic information system (GIS) that the Institute has not previously engaged in, and Slovenia represents a significant market for this type of service. Significant investments are also anticipated in the development of new software, obtaining necessary licenses, and acquiring additional equipment. The main reason for the acquisition of GZS, as stated by Geofoto, is to strengthen the capacity of the Geofoto Group for projects in the European Union and worldwide. They explained that GZS has a long and successful business tradition, top-notch experts, and is the largest surveying institute in the former Yugoslavia. Its integration into the Geofoto Group was a logical step in fulfilling Geofoto’s vision of becoming the leading company in the field of geodesy and geoinformatics in Europe, they emphasized in the company.
