Ivica Mudrinić, the CEO of HT, a company whose shares, as he stated, are owned by almost every Croatian family after the IPO, sees the cause of the crisis affecting the world in the widespread lack of personal responsibility.
– We must articulate a new set of values for a new time. Personal responsibility is the foundation of social order. The lack of that responsibility among some market players has also led to this financial crisis – said Mudrinić at the Zagreb Stock Exchange conference in Novigrad. The crisis of managing society and the economy occurs simultaneously with the technological revolution that fundamentally changes the way of doing business, and there is no longer, said Mudrinić, a local market or lifelong employment.
Mudrinić took the opportunity to criticize the unions, with which he is currently in negotiations, questioning whom the union leaders will be accountable to as they seek to introduce even more rigid labor legislation that, according to him, will make the Croatian economy permanently uncompetitive as investments will move to neighboring, eastern countries. Mudrinić did not spare the state and local authorities either, criticizing them for massive investments in sports facilities and railways, which are allocated 18 billion kuna or the new Zagreb airport.
