At a technology briefing in Novi Vinodolski, HP Croatia presented to journalists on Thursday the HP EliteBook 6930p laptop from its new premium line of notebooks, which can operate for 24 hours without battery charging.
Igor Fiolić, the head of the PSG segment at the Croatian branch of Hewlett-Packard, introduced the new line of premium HP EliteBook notebooks to journalists, including the 6930p laptop, which can autonomously operate for 24 hours with an additional battery, meaning without charging the battery. Although the 6930p is designed for bankers, it is exceptionally robust, with a casing so rigid that the screen cannot be bent, and it is also scratch-resistant, at least until it encounters two mischievous journalists, one with a key for the Multi Lock lock and the other applying a wildly strong pressure on steel wool.
Nevertheless, the computer meets very strict standards of the U.S. military and falls into the category of highly durable devices. However, the configuration that achieved the record is not the one that HP will offer at the lowest price for that model. The record holder features a specially energy-efficient LCD screen, which saves about four hours of battery operation, and instead of a rotating hard drive, it has a built-in Solid State Disk, essentially memory similar to USB Flash memory sticks. A more detailed review of the HP EliteBook 6930p will be published in one of the upcoming press issues of Lider. (I. Š.)
