In contrast to the average Croatian camps that recorded a two percent increase in tourist visits this tourist season, the 12 best camps united in the Top Camping Pool organization achieved a 10 percent increase in physical traffic and a five percent increase in financial traffic.
This result is due to investments in infrastructure despite prices being higher by up to 20 percent. The highest number of visitors came to the best camps from the German market, while the largest increases were recorded from the markets of Denmark (as much as 88 percent) and the Netherlands (30 percent). Among the twelve camps, the largest increase was seen at the Soline camp from Biograd (53 percent), primarily thanks to significant investments, followed by Stellamaris from Umag (40 percent).
The president of the Camping Association, Jerko Sladoljev, claims that the increase is the result of significant changes in the guest structure, particularly in the reduction of seasonal guests and the increase of individuals as a higher-paying group, especially from Scandinavian countries and the Benelux countries. For the second consecutive year, the naturist camps of the Top Camping Pool are operating positively and are in increasing demand. (Željka Laslavić)
