Croatian Aircraft Prohibited from Entering the USA

After the American aviation authorities, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), conducted a safety oversight of Croatian civil aviation in January of this year, they today published a negative report on their website, reports the portal vecernji.hr.

With a rating of two, the FAA effectively prohibits direct air traffic between the USA and the Republic of Croatia, šmeaning that no aircraft from any Croatian airline is allowed to fly to that country. FAA representatives arrived in Croatia after Croatia Airlines signed a code-sharing agreement with United Airlines in 2007, which would mean that passengers from Croatia to the USA would fly through seven European cities with only one stop, and CA and United Airlines would jointly operate in the American market. So far, nothing has come of that. Croatia earned this poor rating largely because there are no experts in the public administration to conduct quality oversight in air traffic. (www.vecernji.hr)
