The Zagreb Municipal State Attorney’s Office has filed an indictment against the former CEO of Zagreb Holding, Slobodan Ljubičić, and the former technical director of Zagrebačke ceste, Stipe Ćorić, accusing them of abuse of position and authority to the detriment of the Holding.
Ljubičić is accused of enabling Ćorić to use an Opel Vectra owned by a rent-a-car company from February to April of this year, despite Ćorić’s superior deciding that the lease agreement for that vehicle would not be renewed, the State Attorney’s Office announced on its website, citing only the initials of the suspects. In addition to allowing Ćorić to use the car, Ljubičić ordered that the rental bills be paid by another subsidiary within the Holding, which was thus damaged by 22,640 kuna.
Using the car for private purposes while on sick leave, Ćorić consumed more than 400 liters of diesel fuel, worth about 3,370 kuna, the State Attorney’s Office stated, emphasizing that they requested in the indictment “the confiscation of unlawful property benefits obtained by the defendants through the commission of the described criminal acts.” However, Ljubičić and Ćorić are only the fourth and fifth suspects in the indictment sent to the Municipal Criminal Court in Zagreb.
