Zagreb’s Zagrepčanka Sold to the Institute of Construction of Croatia

The management of Zagreb Holding decided at today’s meeting to conclude a contract for the sale of half of the ideal share of Zagrepčanka to the highest bidder – the Institute of Construction of Croatia (IGH), which offered 45,620,000 euros for the purchase of Zagrepčanka, announced Zagreb Holding.

Four bids were received for the tender, which involved the sale of half of the property of the former meat industry Zagrepčanka, covering an area of 100,000 square meters. One bid was invalid, from the company HB Reavis Central & Eastern Europe, while IGH offered the highest amount of 45.6 million euros among the three valid bids. Ingra d.d. offered 41.2 million euros, and United Europe Investments, a company owned by Serbian tycoon Miroslav Mišković, offered 36.2 million euros.

The President of the Management Board of Zagreb Holding, Ivo Čović, and the head of the Commission for the Sale of Zagrepčanka, Ivan Tolić, stated at the opening of the bids at the end of August that the highest price would be the only criterion for selecting the buyer if all other conditions were met. The city of Zagreb purchased Zagrepčanka in 2001 for 113 million kuna, and at the beginning of 2008, Zagreb Holding bought it from the city for 251.5 million kuna.

The Holding’s management decided on June 27 of this year to sell half of the ideal share of Zagrepčanka, making the buyer an equal co-owner of the property with 50 percent ownership. (H)
