Polančec without comment on MOL’s offer

Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polančec stated today that as a member of the Government and the Supervisory Board of INA, based on the Law on Takeover of Joint Stock Companies and the fact that the Government has a shareholder agreement with MOL, he is unable to comment on any element of MOL’s public offer to purchase shares of INA, as it would violate the law.

MOL independently decided to make a public offer. The Government did not invite MOL nor should it invite anyone else, Polančec told reporters in Krško when asked how he comments on MOL’s offer. Anyone who wants, has the strength and will can participate in the transparent process of the public offer, and whoever offers a higher price will be the winner, said Polančec. He emphasized that as long as the public offer is ongoing, any communication and negotiations with MOL are not part of the Government’s activities. "They do not take place until the public offer is completed, and in the coming weeks I would not make any statements in this regard," said Polančec after the meeting of the Intergovernmental Croatian-Slovenian Commission for the Krško Nuclear Power Plant.  (H)
