Radić: IGH will soon be structured as a holding

The price of the Dubrovnik – Doli section on the Zagreb – Split – Dubrovnik highway will be known after the completion of the tender for the execution of works, and the modification of the Pelješac Bridge into a facility with a four-lane roadway would not significantly increase the cost of that facility, said the director of the Institute of Construction of Croatia, Jure Radić, at today’s press conference where the company’s new logo was presented.

Commenting on an article in today’s Slobodna Dalmacija which states that the highway section Doli – Dubrovnik designed by IGH could cost 8 million euros per kilometer, Radić said that these are merely speculations before the completion of the tender for the execution of works. This question, he adds, is more suitable for the investor than for the designer.

Reflecting on the claim published in the same daily by former Minister of Construction Radimir Čačić that at least 25 percent of the construction cost of a kilometer of highway is attributable to corruption and rigging of tenders, Radić stated that IGH has not participated in anything of the sort. The director of IGH, when asked about the possibilities of constructing the Pelješac Bridge as a four-lane roadway instead of the two-lane as currently planned, responded that he has advocated for a four-lane roadway from the beginning and that it would not significantly increase the cost of the bridge.

Regarding the land of the former meat industry Zagrepčanka for which IGH submitted the best offer, Radić said that project preparation for that area is underway, as well as negotiations with partners who would participate in the construction of a commercial-business-residential complex.

He dismissed insinuations that IGH participated in the purchase of land as an extended arm of Agrokor, emphasizing that Agrokor is one of the partners with whom IGH is negotiating the development of the project. In addition to Zagrepčanka, IGH is developing about ten other projects with a total value of around 1 billion euros, Radić said. Among the more significant ones, he mentioned the Bundek Bridge, Ban Center in the center of Zagreb, and the Dubrovnik project Radeljević.

The director of IGH announced that due to the increase in the number of employees and the branching of business activities, IGH plans to restructure. It will most likely be structured as a holding in which separate business units would be design and investment, he said, also announcing that the shares of IGH will be listed in the highest quotation of the Zagreb Stock Exchange the day after tomorrow.

The management of IGH has not yet seen the tender for the sale of Đuro Đaković Montaže, Radić briefly responded to the inquiry about whether IGH is interested in that company. The conference also presented the new logo of IGH, designed by the renowned Croatian designer Boris Ljubičić, which will be gradually introduced by the end of the year. (H)
