Polančec: MOL decided on a public offer, others can also apply

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia Damir Polančec stated this evening for HTV that the Hungarian MOL has independently decided to announce a public offer for INA shares, and that the same opportunity is available to all interested potential strategic partners.

Polančec said this in response to a question of whether the Croatian Government, by announcing the exchange of shares with Hungarian MOL, in some way promised MOL that, regardless of the success of the public offer, it would acquire a 44 percent stake in shares, thus in some way discouraging other interested companies from participating in the race for INA shares.

The exchange of shares is based on the Law on the Privatization of INA, said Deputy Prime Minister Polančec.

"When we talk about the sale of shares, I must say that we did not call MOL to make a public offer, however, MOL decided on such a step. Such an opportunity is available to all other interested potential strategic partners, and the one who will make a better offer will ultimately be more successful," emphasized Polančec. (Hina)
