Trading in shares on the Zagreb Stock Exchange increased by 174 percent

Regular trading in shares on the Zagreb Stock Exchange in October, amounting to 3.2 billion kuna, doubled compared to the previous month, and is 174 percent higher than in October of last year, reported the Zagreb Stock Exchange.

The main reason for this is the inclusion and trading of HT shares, which accounted for almost a third of regular trading in shares. However, even excluding HT, there is a noticeable significant increase in trading of other shares, up 48 percent on a monthly basis, according to the Zagreb Stock Exchange. Due to price corrections and a slowdown in trading at the end of the month, the monthly statistics do not reflect the full extent of the market growth in the first half of October when the Crobex index (and thus the average price of the most liquid shares) reached its historical maximum of 5,392 points. However, the value of Crobex at the end of the month (at 5,123 points) is 57.2 percent higher than at the end of last year’s October, the Exchange notes. (H)
