This weekend, the first International Ham Fair was held in Tinjana. Eighteen producers from Croatia, Italy, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, and Spain participated. The fair attracted a large number of visitors, and 50 hams were sliced and consumed.
Ham is one of the gastronomic symbols of Istria. Among the most prominent Istrian ham producers, the majority reside in the Tinjana area, which has also declared itself a municipality of ham.(H)
