Croatian science has recently received significant recognition at the American National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Washington, where an article from the Croatian Medical Journal on poverty in new and old EU member states and Croatia was included among the eight selected from 750 scientific articles worldwide in the presentation of the Global thematic issue on poverty and human development.
Under the patronage of the Fogarty Center, the international component of the NIH that deals with global health, the National Library of Medicine of the NIH, and the Council of Science Editors (CSE), a promotion of the Global thematic issue on poverty and human development was held on October 22, simultaneously published in 235 scientific journals in 37 countries around the world.
