Elka, a company known for manufacturing all types of cables and wires, whose products are used in Airbus airplanes and in the English department store Harrod, celebrated 80 years of business modestly and with social sensitivity.
The company decided to donate computers worth 350,000 kuna to 24 schools across Croatia for its 80th anniversary. At the ceremony attended by representatives of the schools, Elka’s partners, and the media, CEO Darko Belić reflected on the company’s history and presented its achievements to date, as well as announced further ambitions of this successful company. In the first nine months of this year, Elka achieved revenue of 502 million kuna, 20% more than in the same period last year, and exports reached about 40 million euros.
By the end of the year, the company could generate around 645 million kuna. Regarding the future, the most notable plans include the construction of a new factory next year and going public on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, transitioning to a joint-stock company status. The list of partners is equally impressive, including Hep, Dalekovod, shipyards, Končar, Croatian Railways, Croatian Highways, etc. The attendees were also addressed by the Chairman of the Supervisory Board Franjo Gregurić, who stated that the factory has not ceased operations for a single day since its establishment, which, considering the turbulent times in this region, truly deserves respect.
