The Prime Minister, Dr. Ivo Sanader, launched the new sewage system worth approximately 40 million kuna in Cavtat, emphasizing that it is an extremely important complex for the municipality that hosts more than 10,000 guests during the tourist season.
“Ecology and environmental protection are our absolute priority,” said the Prime Minister. He also announced a new phase of the sewage system in which the installation of connections will follow, which will cost several million kuna more, and in which, as he stated, the Government of the Republic of Croatia will also participate. In response to journalists’ questions, Prime Minister Sanader also commented on the upcoming parliamentary elections and current political and social events.
Commenting on the opposition parties, primarily the SDP, he stated that their statements are dominated by two themes: how to impose new taxes on citizens and who will be what when they win. He announced the publication of the HDZ electoral lists within the legal deadline, i.e., after October 31. In response to the SDP’s suspicion regarding the possibility of double voting, Sanader stated that “they are looking for reasons for their own defeat in their loser mentality.” He added that the HDZ government has proven itself through actions over the past four years, including the creation of more than 12,900 new jobs and addressing the issues of pensioners’ debts and other pension-related problems.
