The president of HSP, Anto Đapić, at a party gathering in Karlovac, assessed that a large coalition between HDZ and SDP is likely. He also reminded that HSP rejected a donation from VIP-net.
HSP, Đapić explained the reasons for rejecting VIP-net’s offer, wants to show that it has a critical stance towards operators who have excessively high service prices. “It would be inappropriate to accept a donation, and it would even be a conflict of interest,” he said.
Speaking about a possible coalition between HDZ and SDP, Đapić stated that “there is now a small probability that it will not happen because both SDP and HDZ have recently been with their political sponsors in Germany and Austria discussing this matter.” He asserted that all previous conflicts between Milanović and Sanader are only about ephemeral issues, and on all crucial topics related to domestic and foreign policy, attitudes towards privatization, foreign banks, and corruption, as well as relations with The Hague, they do not differ at all. Đapić said that for this reason, anyone who wants to vote for a change in policy must vote for HSP.
“Although we know that HSP is the solution for Croatia, we do not see ourselves at the table forming the future Croatian government. Possibly some participation, support in a minority government. But we have shown that it is possible to influence the development of Croatia from the opposition. If a large coalition between HDZ and SDP occurs, it leads to the victory of HSP because it will then be clear that for a change in policy in the future, one must vote for HSP as a third option, given that HSP has a good team and good programs and can form a better government than Milanović or Sanader,” said Đapić.
