In 500 hospitality venues in Slovenia selected by members of the local Association of Hospitality Service Providers, smoking will be allowed again on Saturday. By calling for smoking, Slovenian hospitality providers have decided to fight against the tobacco law that prohibits smoking in public places.
With a peaceful action, as announced by Slovenian media, hospitality providers will attempt to convince the public of the shortcomings of the anti-smoking law. In addition to allowing cigarettes to be lit in 500 venues, they will ask guests to sign a petition for changing the controversial parts of the law.
According to previous statements from Slovenian hospitality providers, 70 percent of hospitality establishments in Slovenia have recorded a dramatic decline in traffic since smoking was banned in them. (T. V.)
