The leading global business software manufacturer, German SAP, announced on Thursday that it increased its profit by 10 percent in the third quarter due to growth in license sales revenue.
SAP achieved a profit of 408 million euros from July to the end of September, compared to 370 million euros earned in the same period last year. This slightly exceeded analysts’ expectations, who anticipated earnings of 405 million euros. Total revenues amounted to 2.42 billion euros compared to 2.21 billion euros achieved in the same period last year. As the main reason for the profit growth, SAP cites an 11 percent increase in license sales revenue to 715 million euros, which is also a key tool for forecasting future revenues from maintenance and consulting services.
