The 9th Biograd Boat and Charter Show has been ceremoniously opened at the Kornati marina in Biograd, featuring 140 exhibitors, the largest number to date, with 170 different vessels.
A large number of citizens have already visited the fair today, and by October 21, when it concludes, more than 10,000 visitors are expected. The exhibition of vessels will be accompanied by meetings of entrepreneurs and professionals in the nautical sector regarding nautical tourism, the state of Croatian marinas, and other topics. The Biograd Nautical Fair was opened by State Secretary for Tourism Zdenko Mičić.
As Mičić stated, events like the one in Biograd attract guests and retain them, thus contributing to even better results of this year’s excellent tourist season. By the end of the year, the number of guests in Croatia could exceed 11 million, and already the revenue is 16 percent higher than a year ago, meaning that by the end of the year, revenue could exceed seven billion euros in tourism, Mičić said.
Goran Knežević, director of the hotel company “Ilirija” d.d., which includes the “Kornati” marina, stated at the opening of the Fair that the majority of Biograd’s guests are sailors and that the city is becoming an increasingly significant nautical center year after year. He assessed that the fair event is one of the more important events for the city.
