DC: Payment term 30 days, VAT only on collected

The President of the Democratic Center, Vesna Škare Ožbolt, stated tonight from the party’s rally in Bjelovar that a vote for DC is a vote for concrete work or for sharp criticism, as DC demonstrated how to work while in power, and in opposition, it has provided sharp critiques.

The Democratic Center is equally distant from HDZ and SDP, and while these two parties are arguing, DC offers its programs, said the party president.

DC primarily advocates for the economy – production, development, and export, and for order in payments, for which the term should be 30 days to prevent the growth of internal illiquidity. It also advocates for VAT on collected, not contracted invoices, said Vesna Škare Ožbolt.

She emphasized that DC is also for judicial reform and pointed out that the party supports the adoption of laws on the confiscation of property benefits acquired through criminal acts, which would, she said, for example, in the case of Zagorec mean the seizure of unlawfully acquired property regardless of whether it has been transferred to other family members. The current government, she said, has not had the strength to adopt that law.

The President of the Democratic Center also criticized the government today from a press conference held in Osijek, asserting that the government has become entangled in dirty political games in Osijek. HDZ has completely put Antun Palarić and his Central State Office for Administration at its service, which makes decisions as HDZ says, not according to the rule of law and the strength of law and regulations, but according to the strength of political decisions, she stated.

At tonight’s DC rally in Bjelovar, among others, Boris Anzulović, the first on the DC list in the 10th electoral district, former dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Naval Architecture in Split, and Mato Mlinarić, the first on the DC list in the 2nd electoral district, spoke.
