He called on HDZ president Ivo Sanader for a public pre-election debate."No more excuses, enough with the justifications. Each member of the SDP team could confront Sanader, but I gladly take on that burden personally. I invite Sanader to do what he has never done because he has never confronted anyone and I ask him to bring those accounts regarding the purchased property," said Milanović.
He stated that the HDZ Government is a Government of corrupt ministers whose leader cannot even answer about the origin of his personal wealth."HDZ is in terms of transparency in election financing a darkness, gloom, and fraud, while in the SDP everything is clear – who finances us and what our assets are," emphasized Milanović at the party gathering for the 3rd electoral unit. Reiterating his support for the introduction of a capital gains tax, Milanović said: "If a worker in the textile industry or cashiers in stores that operate on Sundays with a salary of two thousand kuna can pay taxes, so can those who earn at least 50 thousand kuna because that shows belonging to the community and common goals, thus contributing to the financing of society.
