By the decision of the Commercial Court in Split, 280 workers of the Sinj factory of thread ‘Dalmatinka Nova’, who submitted a request for the opening of bankruptcy proceedings on June 27, must deposit 40,000 kuna into the account of that court by tomorrow for the costs of court expertise.
The court expertise would determine the solvency, i.e., the ability to operate the factory, which was requested by the legal representative of the workers in the pre-bankruptcy proceedings, a request accepted by the bankruptcy judge. The workers have sought assistance from unions, institutions, city authorities, and political parties because, as stated by the president of the NSH branch, Iva Radonja, the workers do not have that money. “If we do not deposit the money by tomorrow, bankruptcy judge Ivan Basić could reject our request for the opening of bankruptcy proceedings,” said Radonja. The workers received help from SDP councilors from Sinj, who renounced their monthly council fees, workers from the Sinj Autotransport who collected about 2,000 kuna, some veterans’ associations from the Sinj area, and individuals who donated money for the payment of the expertise costs.
