Representatives of the Ministry of Finance, led by Minister Ivan Šuker, met on Tuesday with World Bank Vice President Micheal Klein and representatives of the World Bank Office in Zagreb on the occasion of tomorrow’s presentation of the World Bank Report “Doing Business 2008,” it was announced by the Ministry of Finance.
The Republic of Croatia has been ranked for the second consecutive year in the World Bank Report among the “10 top” countries in terms of the quality and quantity of implemented reforms. This year, Croatia is second on the list of implemented reforms, behind Egypt, placing it at the top of European countries.
Micheal Klein congratulated Croatia on the significant progress reflected in this year’s Report. He explained that foreign investors are closely monitoring countries that implement reforms, and all advancements in reforms serve as an invitation for investment. Klein also thanked Croatian representatives for examining the quality of the methodology of the Report with constructive tools, noting that such an approach gradually changes the methodology to enhance its quality, as stated in the announcement.
Minister Šuker emphasized that the results of the Report are much better than in previous years, which is a result of the work of this Government, as well as all participants involved in the reforms. He also stated that further structural reforms will yield even better results next year. (Hina)
