Pharmaceutical company Pliva announced today the sale of its commercial business in Italy to Biomedica Foscama Industria Chimico-Farmaceutica.
Based on the agreement, Biomedica is acquiring Pliva’s affiliated company Pliva Pharma S.p.A and obtaining the right to use the "Pliva" trademark in Italy for a transitional period of up to 18 months, during which it will integrate the new company into its existing operations, according to Pliva’s statement. This is the first step in the sale of non-core business, and it is expected that the transaction itself will not significantly affect the company’s profit or results, Pliva emphasizes. (H)
