The richest man in Central and Eastern Europe this year is the Russian aluminum king Oleg Deripaska. Among the hundred richest, traditionally announced by the Polish economic monthly Vprost, are Ivica Todorić, Ante Vlahović, and Enver Moralić.
The first 19 positions in the wealth ranking of Central and Eastern Europe are occupied by Russians and Ukrainians who have amassed their wealth thanks to oil, gas, and raw materials from their countries. Their wealth is estimated at 390.7 billion US dollars. The richest individual – Oleg Deripaska, who is also the youngest tycoon among the controversial Russian oligarchs – has a fortune exceeding 30 billion dollars. Following the Russians and Ukrainians, the highest position on the list of the richest is held by Czech financier Petr Kellner, whose wealth is estimated at 5.8 billion dollars.
The owner of the Agrokor group, Ivica Todorić, with his wealth estimated at 830 million dollars, ranks 81st on the list of the richest in the region, while from Croatia, Ante Vlahović, CEO of Adris Group, with assets worth 650 million dollars, and agricultural magnate Enver Moralić, whose wealth is estimated at 540 million dollars, also made the list. Ante Vlahović is in 92nd place among the richest, and Enver Moralić is in 99th place. There are no Slovenians on the top list, so Slovenian media concluded that the richest Slovenian – trade king Mirko Tuš, whose wealth is estimated at 240 million euros – would need to double his assets to be among the hundred richest in Central and Eastern Europe.
