Can Crobex Rise Above 5000 Points Again?

The week was finally filled with events both on and off the stock exchange (preparations for HT). The American central bank, the FED, lowered its reference interest rate from 5.25% to 4.75% at the beginning of the week, triggering global euphoria across all world stock exchanges, which also reached ours. The Crobex index rose by 4%, reaching 4837.72 points.

This excellent result is attributed to Atlantska plovidba, which reached a price of 3,000 kuna per share with a jump of 14% on Friday and a turnover of 23 million kuna, followed by Ina, which contributed 36 points to the index with a closing price of 2,750 kuna per share, Ericsson Nikola Tesla with an increase of 150 kuna per share, Adris, and Luka Ploče, which rose by 882 kuna per share, or 22.73% on a weekly basis. To avoid listing further, 23 stocks in the index rose, while only seven fell (three banks, two hotel groups, and one sugar factory).

Trading volumes have also shifted from a standstill, as we can now list turnovers exceeding 10 million kuna during a single trading day, which had not been the case in recent weeks: at the beginning of the week, Podravka with 10 million kuna (unchanged price), Riviera Poreč with 15 million kuna (-9.3% on a weekly basis), Adris group with 13 million kuna, and of course the aforementioned Atlantska plovidba with a turnover of 23 million kuna. We will have to wait for next week to see if Crobex can rise above 5,000 points again.
