The only non-privatized hotel company in the city of Dubrovnik, Hoteli Maestral, which comprises five hotels – Komodor, Adriatic, Vis, Splendid, and Uvala, recorded record results from its establishment in the period from January to August this year – nine percent more overnight stays than last year, or two percent more than the record year of 2005.
The total revenue of the Company is six percent higher than in 2006, with a pension income of 34.46 million kuna, five percent better than in 2006, along with a nine percent increase in non-pension income. The occupancy rate in the last three months of this year exceeds 90 percent, with the largest number of guests coming from the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and Spain, followed by Ireland, Norway, and Sweden. According to the CEO Davorko Obuljen, the number of individual guests has increased by 80 percent compared to 2006, significantly surpassing the planned increase in the share of this important and most profitable market segment. The occupancy situation for September and October guarantees better results than last year, emphasized the CEO of Hotel Maestral, adding that these results once again prove that through the joint efforts of experienced tourism professionals from the old Dubrovnik school and the youth, despite significant turbulence in the tourism market, they achieve more than commendable results.
