Cannoball 8000, the leading European rally of a humanitarian character featuring 260 drivers in super-expensive cars, arrives in Zagreb on September 16. The three-day tour, which starts in London, passes through Brussels and Prague, and concludes in Zagreb, will once again receive strong coverage in British and American media this year.
The rally organizer, Conrad Wall, presented a check for 50,000 kuna to Zagreb’s mayor Milan Bandić during the Cannonball 8000 program launch as a token of gratitude to the City for its support of the event. A designated area of Zagreb’s Starčević Square will be secured for the rally drivers, where cars will arrive at the finish line one after another on Sunday, September 16, starting at 4 PM. Cannonball 8000 is not a race; speed is not measured in any sense, and no prize is awarded to the driver who arrives first at the finish line. (Renato Đurđević)
