As many as 74,000 calls from citizens have been recorded on the humanitarian hotline number 060 9009 for collecting funds to assist the families of the deceased firefighters and the firefighters injured while extinguishing the fire on Kornati on August 30, 2007.
The cost of a call to the number 060 9009 is 6.10 kuna including VAT, and all collected funds from citizens will be deposited into the account of the Firefighters’ Association of Šibenik-Knin County and will be used to assist families and educate the children of the deceased firefighters, for medical treatment costs, and for home care for the injured firefighters.
The initiative launched by T-Hrvatski Telekom has since been joined by all mobile operators, in addition to fixed operators, so that as of today, calls to the number 060 9009 are possible from both fixed and mobile networks. T-Hrvatski Telekom, like all other operators, waives all revenues from this humanitarian action, which has been supported by the Expert Committee for the implementation of the competition for the allocation of numbers for humanitarian actions.
