In July and August, 357 million kuna from tolls

Croatian Highways (HAC) generated revenue of 357.38 million kuna (excluding VAT) from toll collection during the main tourist season in July and August, which is 11.3 percent higher than the revenue from the same period last year, it was learned from HAC.

HAC, which manages the most highways in Croatia, collected 175.1 million kuna in tolls in July and 182.28 million kuna in August. The highest toll amount collected by HAC in both months was on the Bosiljevo – Šestanovac highway – 82.18 million kuna in July and 85.87 million kuna in August. On the Zagreb – Lipovac highway, 70.15 million kuna was collected in July and 72.76 million kuna in August. In the first eight months of this year, HAC’s toll revenues amounted to 874.72 million kuna, which is 13.4 percent more than in the first eight months of last year, while the number of vehicles increased by 10.7 percent, with over 23.17 million vehicles recorded on HAC’s highways during the eight-month period. In the eight-month period, the highest toll revenues were collected on the Zagreb – Lipovac highway, 420.65 million kuna, while 335.6 million kuna was collected on the Bosiljevo – Šestanovac highway.

During the past weekend, from August 31 to September 2, 392.83 thousand vehicles passed through the highways managed by HAC, and tolls amounting to 16.19 million kuna were collected. The concession company Rijeka – Zagreb Highway, which manages the highway of the same name, collected 6.19 million kuna in tolls during the past weekend, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with traffic of 282 thousand vehicles. On this highway, a total of 139.58 million kuna in tolls was collected during July and August, with 70.02 million kuna in July and 69.56 million kuna in August. The concessionaire on the Istrian Y, Bina Istra, collects tolls at the Mirna Bridge and Učka Tunnel, and during July and August, 33.58 million kuna in tolls was collected at these two toll stations.

During July, with traffic of about 645 thousand vehicles, 16.58 million kuna in tolls was collected at the Mirna Bridge and Učka Tunnel, and in August, nearly 17 million kuna was collected, with traffic exceeding 704 thousand vehicles. During the past weekend, from August 31 to September 2, traffic of 67.77 thousand vehicles was recorded at the Mirna Bridge and Učka Tunnel, and 1.55 million kuna in tolls was collected. On the Zagreb – Macelj highway, traffic of over 90.02 thousand vehicles was recorded during the three days of the past weekend, according to data from the concession company Zagreb – Macelj Highway, which does not publish data on toll revenues. According to data from this concession company, during July, traffic of nearly 833 thousand vehicles was recorded on the Zagreb-Macelj highway, and they will announce the statistics for August on September 10.
