The Programming Council of HRT opened today 16 candidacies for the leading programming positions of Croatian Television (HTV) and Croatian Radio (HR) and determined that 12 candidacies meet the requirements of the competition, while four applications were rejected due to incomplete documentation.
In the competition for the chief editor of HTV’s news program are Renato Kunić, Katja Kušec, Hloverka Novak Srzić, and Goran Rotim, while the application of Jelena Perleta was not accepted due to incomplete documentation. Damir Matković and Božidar Domagoj Burić are candidates for the director of HTV’s program, while Branimir Rajaković Bučar and Anđelko Jurkas were eliminated from the race for that position due to incomplete documentation. Duško Radić and Tomislav Radić are candidates for the director of the Croatian Radio (HR) program, with Tomislav Radić also applying for the position of chief editor of HR’s news program, for which Vladimir Kumbrija, Damirka Mihaljević, and Zrinka Štimac are still competing.
The application of Željko Roška was rejected due to incomplete documentation. The director of HRT, Vanja Sutlić, announced that discussions with candidates will take place in the coming days, and members of the HRT Programming Council will also be able to attend these discussions. On September 11, journalists from HTV and HR will also give their opinions on the candidates who make it to the shortlist. After their non-binding opinions, the HRT Programming Council will decide on the proposed candidates. For a candidate to be elected, they must receive at least šix votes from the Council members. It is expected that HTV and HR could have new programming leadership by mid-September. (H)
