Vienna Stock Exchange and Ukrainian PFTS Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Austrian Wiener Boerse (WB) announced on Friday that it has signed a cooperation agreement with the Ukrainian stock exchange PFTS. The cooperation will primarily cover the area of indices, as highlighted in the statement from the Austrian company.

"The Ukrainian stock exchange is becoming increasingly important for the Austrian economy. We are pleased that Wiener Boerse and PFTS are now collaborating more closely," emphasized WB’s chief Heinrich Schaller. The signing of the cooperation agreement with PFTS is the second such agreement WB has made with Ukrainian companies. In March of this year, the Austrian stock exchange operator, together with Oesterreichische Kontrollbank (OeKB) and the Austrian clearing agency CCP.A, signed a cooperation agreement with the Ukrainian State Agency for Investments and the State Depository Agency of Ukraine.

PFTS was established in 1996 and has since developed into the leading stock exchange operator in the Ukrainian securities market, with a market capitalization of 55 billion euros. It is the largest among six Ukrainian stock exchange operators and, following its privatization in October 1997, the largest independent Ukrainian company. (Hina)
