The construction of the Desulfurization Plant (Claus) at the Sisak Oil Refinery has been completed, which was built as part of the modernization of INA’s refineries.
As planned, the construction of Claus was completed in August 2007, thanks to the significant commitment of the managers and workers who participated in this major project, announced INA’s Public Relations and Information Service.
Final checks of the large plant, valued at 24 million euros, are underway, and it is expected that all necessary permits from the relevant institutions and inspectorates will be issued soon, after which Claus will be put into trial operation immediately. The desulfurization plant will resolve the issue of unpleasant odors that occur in hydrogen sulfide. INA – Industrija nafte, d.d. will invest 1.1 billion US dollars in the complete modernization project of its refineries, according to the statement.
