Global telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom and Ericsson have signed a six-year strategic agreement in the area of managed services related to the operation and maintenance of microwave links in Germany.
As part of this agreement, approximately 200 employees will transition from T-Com to Ericsson, a company that has signed over a hundred contracts with telecoms worldwide in the last five years.
Ericsson will manage the microwave equipment and related business activities, meaning it will take full responsibility for the daily operation of DT’s microwave links in Germany, while T-Com will, in turn, purchase capacity from Ericsson. Most of the data traffic in today’s microwave networks is transmitted through systems supplied by Ericsson. Thus, this company, excluding hosting, currently manages networks with a user base exceeding 135 million. (R. Đ.)
