Average salary in Zagreb for June 5,820 HRK, computer specialists 8,390 HRK

The average net salary of employees in legal entities in Zagreb for June this year amounted to 5,820 kuna, which is 78 kuna, or 1.3 percent less than the previous month, according to data from the Department of Statistics of the City Institute for Spatial Planning.

The decline in the average net salary in Zagreb on a monthly basis can likely be attributed to the fact that employers who paid holiday bonuses mostly did so with May salaries. Compared to the average salary in Croatia, which was 4,848 kuna for June, the average net salary of employees in Zagreb for the same month was higher by 972 kuna, or just over 20 percent. The average net salary of employees in legal entities in Zagreb for the first half of this year was 5,742 kuna, which is nominally 5.2 percent higher than in the same period last year.

The average net salary in Zagreb paid during July for June in the economy was 5,827 kuna, while in non-economic activities it was 5,804 kuna. The highest average net salary for June in Zagreb was received by employees in air transport, amounting to 8,816 kuna, which is 51.4 percent higher than the Zagreb average.

The average salary of employees in computer and related activities for June was 8,390 kuna, in financial intermediation, excluding insurance and pension funds 7,995 kuna, two kuna less, 7,993 kuna in insurance and pension funds, excluding mandatory insurance, while employees in research and development for June in Zagreb received an average of 7,914 kuna. Below-average net salaries for June were typically paid in certain sectors within the manufacturing industry. The only sector where less than three thousand kuna was paid is the clothing production, dyeing, and finishing of fur, with an average in that sector for June in Zagreb amounting to 2,610 kuna.

In leather production, the average net salary in Zagreb for June was 3,273 kuna, and in textile production 3,378 kuna. The average gross salary in Zagreb for June was 8,850 kuna, which is 2.2 percent less than in May.
