The Minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, Branko Vukelić, today opened the Seventh Crafts Fair held as part of the Karlovac Beer Days 2007. Organized by the County Crafts Chamber and the Association of Craftsmen of the City of Karlovac, 33 crafts, four small companies, and 18 traditional crafts are exhibiting, and the Development Information Center of Bela Krajina from the Republic of Slovenia, with which Croatians have traditionally good relations, also has an exhibition stand.
Speaking about the economic importance of the Crafts Fair, which is held as part of the Karlovac Beer Days, Minister Vukelić stated that the fair has outgrown the tent of 600 square meters and the space in front of it, and he called on the organizers to separate it as a standalone multi-day event that could, for example, be held in the spring.
Karlovac County Prefect Ivica Horvat, President of the Karlovac County Chamber Zlatko Kuzman, Mayor Damir Jelić, and representatives of the Entrepreneurship Center Ivan Podvorac and Vlado Jelkovac promised that they would soon realize Minister Vukelić’s idea in the interest of entrepreneurs. Prefect Horvat particularly emphasized that 7,500 people live from crafts in Karlovac County, and only this year, 300 jobs have been created in the craft sector. (Hina)
