Mercator increased half-year net profit by 26 percent

The Slovenian retail chain of food products Mercator announced on Friday that it increased its net profit by 26 percent in the first half of 2007 to 21.3 million euros.

Revenue grew by 19.4 percent to 1.1 billion euros, and excluding the revenue of the Serbian retail chain Rodić M&B, which was included in the Mercator group in 2006, the revenue growth rate is 6.9 percent, the statement said. In the Slovenian market, 72.7 percent of total revenue was achieved. Foreign subsidiaries also made a significant contribution to the business, Mercator emphasized. (Hina)
