The Domestic Stock Market is Recovering

The Crobex index ended the day at 4863 points, which is an increase of 1.19 percent compared to Friday. Given that the stock market index fell by 4.2 percent last week, the domestic stock market could correct to values before the decline recorded last week within a few days, says the spokesperson for the Zagreb Stock Exchange, Željko Kardum. The trading volume on the stock exchange today was worth 57.1 million kuna, of which shares traded amounted to 31.9 million kuna.

The decline of the domestic stock market  occurred last week due to the fall of global stock markets and the published weaker business results of some domestic companies. Among them was Ina, whose stock has a 10 percent share in Crobex. Therefore, last week’s decline in the index is directly related to the weaker business results of Ina and the drop in the price of its stock, which lost 3.31 percent in value last week. After a record 2,800 kuna, Ina’s stock fell to 2,600 kuna at one point last week but quickly recovered. Today, that stock fell by 0.66 percent and ended at 2,700 kuna. Throughout today, a number of other stocks, last week’s losers, also recovered. Among them are, for example, the stocks of Atlantska Plovidba, Končar, Adris, Ingra, Magma, Dalekovod, Tehnika  etc. Importantly, the most liquid stocks on the exchange are seeing an increase in trading volume.
