In the first half of this year, tourists in Croatia, unlike in previous years, arrived more individually than organized, and in addition to achieving more overnight stays, individual travelers recorded significant increases compared to the same period last year compared to tourists who arrived and stayed organized.
According to data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics, in the first half of this year, 57.6 percent of the total 3.54 million tourists arrived individually in Croatia, meaning that 2.04 million arrived individually, which is 17 percent more than last year. They accounted for 52 percent of the total 13.07 million half-year overnight stays or 8.82 million, which is an increase of 15 percent. The number of tourists who arrived organized was 1.5 million or 6 percent more, but with 6.24 million overnight stays, they maintained last year’s level.
A similar situation was observed with domestic and foreign tourists. Foreign tourists arrived individually in the number of 1.52 million or 18 percent more, and these foreigners also recorded a 15 percent increase with 5.59 million overnight stays. Organized arrivals of foreign tourists increased by 7 percent or 1.19 million, who had a slight increase of one percent with 5.32 million overnight stays. Domestic tourists arrived individually 15 percent more, or 520.1 thousand, while they recorded a slightly higher increase of 16 percent with 1.23 million overnight stays. Organized arrivals of domestic tourists were 307.4 thousand or 6 percent more, but they recorded the same percentage with a negative sign with 889.8 thousand overnight stays. (Hina)
