The management of the Adriatic Luxury Hotels group has appointed Oleg Valjalo as the Director of Financial Affairs in the group. Valjalo comes from the position of Director of Finance and Controlling and Assistant Director of the luxury Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, a five-star hotel with a capacity of 308 rooms, owned by JLH, the group reported.
Oleg Valjalo graduated from the Faculty of Tourism and Foreign Trade in Dubrovnik and has completed a series of professional seminars and international training in finance, management, and controlling. The new Director of Financial Affairs at JLH has an impressive professional background. He spent ten years in the banking sector, after which he made a career shift when he joined Hotel Dubrovnik Palace in 2005. He began his career in 1995 at Dubrovačka banka d.d. in Dubrovnik, where he was responsible for a project financing small and medium-sized enterprises in collaboration with the County and the State. From 2001 to 2005, he worked at Hypo Alpe Adria banka d.d. in Dubrovnik as a financial advisor in corporate business.
In 2005, he joined the management of Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, where he was responsible for strategy and financial management and controlling, as well as compliance with the International Financial Reporting Standards. Since April of this year, he has been a member of the expert team of Adriatic Luxury Hotels, where he has been intensively working on managing and coordinating the strategic cooperation of the JLH group with the EBRD and IFC.
