Television stations requested not to air Durex ad before 10 PM

The Council for Electronic Media has requested television stations not to air Durex’s advertisement for the vibrating ring condom before 10 PM, emphasizing that it is a sexual toy.

"This advertisement does not mention the health and hygiene, protective function of condoms at all, but explicitly focuses on the vibrating ring for the pleasure of both partners," states the Council for Electronic Media in today’s press release. They add that in this way the product is advertised solely as a sexual toy, and such an advertisement, according to the Electronic Media Act, must not be aired at times when children can watch it. This request to television stations was made by the Council following a monitoring procedure conducted due to citizen complaints. (H)
