Allied Telesis, a global provider of Ethernet/IP solutions and a leading company in the field of IP Triple Play technologies via copper or optical infrastructure, introduced the AT-FS750/24POE – a new 24-port Power-over-Ethernet WebSmart switch on Tuesday.
Twelve of the 24 ports available on the switch can be used to power low-consumption devices, such as VoIP phones or security cameras. The switch can also be configured to use six ports for Power over Ethernet (PoE), but in that case, the output power per port is 15.4 Watts, while using all 12 ports provides an output power of 7.3 Watts. The AT-FS750/24POE also features two SFP 10/100/1000T gigabit ports for connecting optical infrastructure and combines the ease of use of unmanaged switches with advanced features of Websmart switches.
One of the key features of the AT-FS750/24POE is port trunking, which combines multiple ports into a single link that allows for faster data transfer to other network devices. The switch also supports port mirroring, a feature that facilitates the detection of potential issues in the network infrastructure. Thanks to support for port-based and tagged VLANs (IEEE 802.1Q), the switch enables network segmentation into workgroups, positively impacting network performance and security levels.
The AT-FS750/24POE also has advanced QoS with the ability to set four priority queues, making it suitable for implementation in networks used for transmitting various types of information – data, video, and voice.
