A bid has been submitted by the largest Slovenian tour operator Relax for the purchase of a 51.17 percent state stake in the company Hotels Podgora to the Croatian Privatization Fund, while there were no bids for the privatization of Hotels Živogošće.
Relax is offering 15 million kuna for the 51.17 percent stake in Hotels Podgora, which had a starting price of 10.4 million kuna, retaining all 125 employees within one year, hiring 50 new employees over the next five years, and investing 152.1 million kuna during the same period. A total of five bidding documents were purchased for the acquisition of the HFP portfolio in Hotels Podgora, but only Relax submitted a bid.
In addition to Relax, companies Epic Zagreb, Ilirija Biograd, the Czech consortium Vitkovice Tours/KKCG, and As Infortar from Estonia showed interest in Hotels Podgora by purchasing the documentation. At today’s opening of bids at the HFP, it was assessed that Relax’s offer meets all essential conditions of the tender and is being forwarded for further procedure. According to Relax’s director Alojz Gostenčnik, it is the largest Slovenian tour operator specialized in the Adriatic, generating revenue of 20 million euros and bringing 120,000 guests to Croatia. The company is owned by 14 Slovenian individuals.
For Hotels Živogošće, the bidding documentation was purchased by companies Epic Zagreb, Ilirija Biograd, Rogulj Trogir, the Czech consortium Vitkovice Tours KKCG, Austrian De Luxe Immobilien Treuhand, and British Networkframe, but there were no bids. (H)
