Greater tremors in global stock markets would also reflect on Croatia, but not to such an extent, considering that foreign investors do not dominate the domestic capital market, and additionally, the domestic market is liquid. Nevertheless, domestic investors are advised to focus more on liquid stocks that will feel the price corrections less severely in the event of more serious declines.
All global indices on the first day of the working week are ‘sinking’ by about 1.5 percent, and the Zagreb Stock Exchange index CROBEX has fallen by the same percentage. Since the beginning of the unrest in the markets last Tuesday, CROBEX has dropped by about 2 percent. However, it should be noted that the INA stock has not yet been included in the index, and its value last week also fell by two percent. Today’s price of INA stock is 2,830 kuna, while it was worth 3,000 kuna on its best days.
Despite the drop in CROBEX, trading on the domestic capital market is average, and on the Zagreb Stock Exchange, there is an equal ratio of buying and selling of stocks, says its spokesperson Ċ½eljko Kardum. What will happen in the global markets in the next period is currently uncertain, and largely depends on the development of the situation between the USA and Iran, say domestic brokers.
