OTP banka Hrvatska achieved a net profit of 101.6 million kuna last year, according to preliminary unaudited data, with a significant increase in operating profit, as announced by the bank.
As stated, when excluding the extraordinary profit from last year’s earnings, which was generated from the bank’s real estate transactions, an increase of 12.1 percent was recorded compared to the previous year. The total net interest income of OTP banka in 2006 amounted to 291.32 million kuna, which is 9 percent higher than in 2005, while the bank’s assets increased by 20.41 percent, reaching 10.4 billion kuna. In the past year, OTP banka recorded a growth in total deposits of 19.04 percent, while the loan portfolio grew by 32.76 percent.
Fee income increased by 22.5 percent, with a notable increase in card business fee income of 43.7 percent. OTP banka issued a total of 19,208 loans amounting to 1.48 billion kuna last year, of which 758 million kuna were housing loans, and the loan portfolio for citizens at the end of the year amounted to 3.47 billion kuna. The announcement from OTP banka also highlights the performance of their internet banking segment for business clients, where the number of transactions increased by as much as 300 percent last year, while the transaction volume in the same period showed a growth of 228 percent. The increase in the number of internet transactions for citizens was 301 percent, and the increase in turnover was 334 percent, as stated in the announcement. (H)
