The German insurance group Allianz is considering the possibility of establishing a bank under its own name, announced its leader Michael Diekmann in an interview with the Düsseldorf daily Handelsblatt.
"By 2009, we will equip a thousand of our branches with advisors for banking services. Today, we have Dresdner Bank for such tasks, while in ten years we could have Allianz Bank," stated Diekmann, who recently criticized the results of Dresdner Bank in dealing with citizens.
