The Competition Protection Council has deemed the concentration of the entrepreneur Erste Bank der österreichischen Sparkassen AG from Austria and Diners Club Adriatic d.d. from Zagreb permissible at its 77th session. This concentration involves Erste Bank gaining control over Diners Club by acquiring all shares, which cannot significantly affect market competition in the relevant market in Croatia, as stated by the AZTN.
The Agency, in the implementation of oversight of the use of approved state guarantees for the restructuring of shipyards 3. Maj, Kraljevica, Brodotrogir, and Brodosplit, has determined that the mentioned shipyards are using the approved state guarantees in accordance with the conditions and purposes of use from the Agency’s decision of September 21, 2006. The oversight procedure will continue to be conducted by the Agency in the following period, until the end of the restructuring period on March 21, 2007.
The Council has initiated a procedure for the assessment of the cooperation agreement between the entrepreneur Viro Sugar Factory d.d. from Virovitica and Pfeifer&Langen from Cologne, Germany. The Agency will determine whether the conditions for individual exemption of the mentioned agreement from the application of the provisions of the Competition Protection Act relating to prohibited agreements have been met, and will make a substantive decision on this matter.
