Nina Oberiter-Gluhak Receives Another Position

Nina Oberiter-Gluhak, in addition to her existing role as CEO of PBZ Card, will also take on a new position as coordinator at the Management Office of Privredna banka Zagreb for client relations, corporate communications, and marketing for PBZ and the Group.

Nina Oberiter-Gluhak has a long-standing career in the card business. In 1970, she began working at Atlas, which in 1972 obtained a franchise for American Express cards for the area of the former state. By 1974, she became the head of a branch that was declared the best in then Yugoslavia. She then led Atlas’s department for recreational and health tourism. In 1992, she became the marketing director of Atlas American Express. In 1998, the American Express franchise was taken over by Privredna banka Zagreb, and that same year, Nina Oberiter-Gluhak became the CEO of PBZ American Express.

Throughout her presence in the Croatian market, the American Express brand has recorded continuous growth, and since 1998, a period of particularly intense development will begin. Today, there are more than 470,000 issued American Express cards in Croatia, nearly 50,000 points of sale, and around 20 different American Express products created according to the needs of various user groups. With the unification of the card business of PBZ Group in 2006, PBZ American Express, along with American Express products, expanded its business to two more global payment card systems, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa International, which were integral parts of the card product portfolio of Privredna banka Zagreb.

At the same time, the company changed its name to PBZ Card, and at its helm is a two-member Management Board, chaired by Nina Oberiter-Gluhak. With this integration, PBZ Card becomes the only card company in Croatia responsible for issuing and accepting American Express cards, while also providing acceptance services and building a sales network for MasterCard and Visa cards. Consequently, the largest card institution in Croatia and the region has been created, with more than two million issued American Express, MasterCard, Maestro, Visa, and Visa Electron cards.

That same year, American Express, as one of the strongest brands in the market, thanks to its reputation, quality of products and services, and overall business, received the status of ‘superbrand’ for Croatia. Nina Oberiter-Gluhak graduated in English and French from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Zagreb and obtained a master’s degree in tourism economics from the Interdisciplinary Study in Dubrovnik.
